Bay View Middle School, WI

Bay View Middle School wanted to redesign the layout of their library to support multiple modes of learning and encourage exploration and creation. A key goal was to create space where students can take control of their own learning as they work with a variety of materials.

To meet their objectives, they turned to Demco’s interior solutions experts to create areas for small- and large-group learning, a literacy lounge, and a collaborative makerspace. To create multifunctional library spaces, the Demco design team focused on flexible furniture, modular soft seating, and media tables. The team concentrated on collaborative and durable solutions in the makerspace, like heavy-duty worksurfaces, and mobile tables and storage.

“The wide range of products that Demco offers was pivotal to our design process,” said Kara Bunkelman, the Technology Integration Specialist at Bay View. “Demco’s knowledge and experience designing school libraries and makerspaces made our vision quickly come to life in the project plans.”
