In this Demco-sponsored webcast, Ben Bizzle, Director of Technology for Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library joins Demco’s Director of Library Engagement & Solutions, Janet Nelson to discuss how to best use Facebook as a tool to promote your library and engage your community.

Ben will share how he and his team have been evolving their strategies for the past 4 years and have succeeded in developing one of the most engaging Facebook pages in our industry. His methods will help you learn how to apply these strategies and achieve similar results at your library. Also learn how to rapidly grow your library’s fanbase through the use of advertising. In addition, you’ll hear about how to access “Library Facebook Images.” This Dropbox folder, shared by over 500 libraries is a resource containing more than 1,000 images and can help engage patrons with your library. Ben has developed an approach that helps fit libraries into Facebook, rather than adapting Facebook for libraries. As a result, you’ll discover how to provide content patrons respond to.

Ben Bizzle has been the Director of Technology for Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library for the past 6 years. He was recently honored with the 2013 Library Journal Movers and Shakers award and is the author of the upcoming book, "Start a Revolution: Stop Acting Like a Library," due out from ALA publications in September 2014. These successes have led to opportunities beyond the library and he frequently speaks at conferences on technology, marketing and social media, and has had a number of articles published on these topics. In addition, he provides consulting services to libraries looking to assess or enhance their technology and marketing strategies.
